Kerry Doyle, Director, Stanlee and Gerald Rubin Center for the Visual Arts and 2014 Arts International JudgeKerry Doyle is Director of the Stanlee and Gerald Rubin Center for the Visual Arts at The University of Texas at El Paso. In the nine years since its founding the Rubin Center has hosted more than 75 exhibitions of contemporary art by artists from around the world, including a range of new commissions, site-specific installations, and performances by artists using a wide variety of traditional and experimental media and practices. Since becoming Director of the Rubin Center Doyle has focused on expanded public programming and artist-led audience engagement, drawing audiences from both on and off campus with a dynamic roster of events focusing on innovative and interdisciplinary practices in the arts. As Assistant Director of the Rubin Center from 2007-2012 she was in charge of education and community outreach and curatorial projects with a focus on cross-border dialogue and contemporary Latin American art, curating more than a dozen exhibitions with activities, performances, and installations that spanned the two cities of El Paso and Juarez. Holds a Masters degree in Latin American and Border Studies from the University of Texas at El Paso, and was a fellow at the Smithsonian Latino Museum Studies program (2009) and the Getty Leadership Institute (2014).

Ronald Fritsch

Ron Fritsch, 2014 Arts International JurorThe work of Ronald Fritsch hangs in a number of private and corporate collections. His creative path has included a BFA and MA in fine arts from NMSU, illustration and art direction for the Las Cruces Sun-News and 40 years of teaching oil, acrylic and watercolor painting. He currently lives in Las Cruces, teaches classes for the El Paso Museum of Art and is senior creative director at Sanders\Wingo Advertising, where he's won numerous awards for his advertising work.

Leslie Allen

Leslie Allen, 2014 Arts International JurorFor almost 20 years, Juror Leslie Allen was dedicated to watercolor. After meeting Chester Arnold, artist and mentor, Allen spent the next decade working in oil. Through her art she "tells stories by way of quirky cartoons, moody landscapes, gestural figures, and large juicy abstract oil paintings, each revealing something about relationships, weather, attitudes, or just textures and the nature of paint." In recent years, she has been working in collaboration with artist and architect Barry Peterson, her husband and partner, in Studio 300A Art + Architecture. She has studied painting in San Diego, San Francisco, New Mexico and Paris, and has been studying aquatint etching techniques and traditions at Crown Point Press in San Francisco.
